Prodi Ilmu Perpustakaan UM Jajaki Kerja Sama dengan Faculty of Information Management Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Malaysia

Kota Malang – Program studi Ilmu Perpustakaan Fakultas Sastra Universitas Negeri Malang membuka jalan untuk melakukan kolaborasi tingkat internasional dengan Faculty of Information Management Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Malaysia. Pertemuan untuk menjajaki kerja sama antara kedua perguruan tinggi tersebut digelar pada hari Senin, 17 Juli 2023 bertempat di ruang sidang D16.204 Fakultas Sastra Universitas Negeri Malang.

Pertemuan yang digelar pada siang hari ini dihadiri oleh tiga orang perwakilan dari UiTM Malaysia, diantaranya Dr. Mohd Zool Hilmie Mohamed Sawa yang merupakan dekan dari Faculty of Information Management Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), serta dua orang dosen, yakni Associate Professor Ts Dr. Asmadi Mohammed Ghazali dan Associate Professor Ts Dr. Abd Latif Abdul Rahman.

Sementara itu, Fakultas Sastra Universitas Negeri Malang diwakili oleh Dr. Moch. Syahri , S.Sos, M.Si., selaku dekan, Dr. Kusubakti Andajani , M.Pd sebagai wakil dekan III, Moh. Safii , S.Kom, M.Hum yang merupakan Koordinator Prodi S1 Ilmu Perpustakaan, serta beberapa orang dosen lainnya.

Pertemuan ini diawali dengan prakata oleh Koordinator Prodi S1 Ilmu Perpustakaan, Moh. Safii , S.Kom, M.Hum serta sambutan dari Dekan Fakultas Sastra, Dr. Moch. Syahri , S.Sos, M.Si. Keduanya mengucapkan terima kasih atas kehadiran dan kesediaan UiTM Malaysia dalam menjajaki kerja sama dengan Prodi Ilmu Perpustakaan UM. Selain itu, beliau berdua juga sedikit mengenalkan progam internasional yang telah dilakukan dalam lingkup Fakultas Sastra dan sangat menyambut baik serta mendukung bentuk kerja sama baru antar kedua lembaga.

Pertemuan ini pun dilanjutkan dengan paparan oleh dekan dari Faculty of Information Management UiTM Malaysia, Dr. Mohd Zool Hilmie Mohamed Sawa. Dirinya banyak mengenalkan profil dari progam studi, membahas persoalan biaya dan transfer credit, mendeskripsikan kegiatan mahasiswa outbond maupun inbound, serta merancang penelitian bersama.

Pertemuan pertama antara kedua lembaga ini pun dilanjutkan dengan diskusi mendetail oleh seluruh hadirin, baik dari UM maupun UiTM mengenai teknis progam kerja sama. Pertemuan ini pun menghasilkan rancangan progam berupa pertukaran pelajar dengan skema 3+1 (tiga tahun di kampus asal ditambah satu tahun di kampus mitra) beserta transfer credit yang menyertainya. Disamping itu, publikasi internasional serta penguji skripsi mancanegara juga disinggung kemungkinannya.

Penjajakan kerja sama ini pun diakhiri dengan pembahasan mengenai Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) yang segera disusun dengan mempersiapkan berkas dan prosesnya oleh masing-masing lembaga. Harapannya, progam yang telah dirancang dapat segera terealisasikan setidaknya mulai tahun depan sehingga dapat menjadi kabar baik bagi mahasiswa kedua instansi.

Prodi Ilmu Perpustakaan Fakultas Sastra Universitas Negeri Malang menerima tamu kehormatan dari dosen bidang perpustakaan Faculty of Information Management Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Kedah, Malaysia. Kegiatan tersebut bertajuk Visiting Lecturer yang diadakan pada hari Senin, 17 Juli 2023 di Aula AVA gedung D14 Fakultas Sastra.

Dalam pertemuan tersebut, hadir Moh. Safii , S.Kom, M.Hum yang merupakan Koordinator Prodi S1 Ilmu Perpustakaan serta beberapa orang dosen lainnya. Adapun delegasi dari UiTM Malaysia diantaranya adalah dekan dari Faculty of Information Management, Dr. Mohd Zool Hilmie Mohamed Sawa yang didampingi oleh dua orang dosen, yakni Associate Professor Ts Dr. Asmadi Mohammed Ghazali serta Associate Professor Ts Dr. Abd Latif Abdul Rahman.

      

Kuliah tamu yang juga dihadiri oleh puluhan mahasiswa S1 Ilmu Perpustakaan dari berbagai angkatan ini dipandu oleh Trisna Nurdiana selaku MC dan diawali dengan menyanyikan lagu kebangsaan Indonesia Raya. Selanjutnya, kegiatan dilanjutkan dengan sambutan dari Koordinator Prodi S1 Ilmu Perpustakaan, Moh. Safii , S.Kom, M.Hum.

Kegiatan yang dimulai sekitar pukul 9 pagi ini kemudian disambung dengan paparan oleh ketiga tamu dari UiTM Malaysia yang sekaligus menjadi narasumber. Ketiganya banyak menyampaikan materi yang menarik seputar dunia perpustakaan dan kearsipan utamanya yang berlaku di Malaysia, seperti kriteria pustakawan di masa kini serta konsep perpustakaan modern. Selain itu, para pemateri juga menekankan bahwa adanya perkembangan teknologi dan Artificial Intellegence (AI) tidak akan menggeser perpustakaan dan pustakawan jika keduanya mampu beradaptasi.

Selain itu, Visiting Lecturer ini juga memberikan pengenalan mengenai profil UiTM Kedah Malaysia serta iklim belajar di negeri tetangga itu. Penjelasan seputar kurikulum, kegiatan belajar mengajar, serta kehidupan sosial yang berkaitan membuat peserta cukup antusias dengan beberapa pertanyaan yang diajukan pada sesi tanya jawab. Kegiatan pun diakhiri dengan pemberian pernak-pernik dan foto bersama.

Kegiatan ini sendiri merupakan pertemuan pertama antara bidang perpustakaan Faculty of Information Management Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Malaysia dengan Prodi Ilmu Perpustakaan UM. Nantinya, pertemuan ini akan ditindaklanjuti dengan pembuatan nota kesepahaman yang akan membuka opsi kerja sama, dimana Visiting Lecturer kali ini merupakan upaya sosialisasinya.

Faculty of Literature, Universitas Negeri Malang is thrilled to announce the launch of an ambitious new research project, set to kick off in February 2023. This groundbreaking initiative is designed to explore the characteristics and motivations of student winners of the PIMNAS scientific poster branch from 2012 to 2022. The project is a testament to UM’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and promoting research that has the potential to shape the future of education.

The research team, composed of four dedicated researchers, chaired by Joni Agung Sudarmanto and two diligent students from UM, is at the heart of this project. Each member brings a unique set of skills and perspectives to the table, promising a comprehensive and multifaceted approach to the research. The team is united by a shared passion for understanding the factors that drive student success in the PIMNAS scientific poster branch, and they are eager to uncover insights that could help future participants excel.

One of the most exciting aspects of this project is the involvement of Ts. Dr. Adzrool Idzwan bin Ismail, a distinguished foreign researcher from Universiti Utara Malaysia. This international collaboration underscores UM’s commitment to fostering global academic relationships and promoting cross-cultural knowledge exchange. Dr. Adzrool’s expertise and outside perspective will undoubtedly enrich the research process and contribute to the depth and breadth of the findings.

The project falls under the Design topic of the Topik KBK scheme, a testament to the innovative and forward-thinking nature of the research. The team will employ a range of research methodologies and analytical techniques to delve into a decade’s worth of data on PIMNAS poster winners. University of Malang is embarking on a unique journey to revive and celebrate the Wayang Potehi puppet show, a traditional art form that has been a part of Indonesian culture for centuries. This research team is led by Dr. Rudi Irawanto, S.Pd, M.Sn, with four researchers namely Dr. Tri Wahyuningyas, S.Pd, M.Si, Dr. Ike Ratnawati, S.Pd, M.Pd, Hartono, S.Sn, M.Sn, Novian Wahyu Firmansyah, S.Sn., M.Sn., a student from our university namely I Made Ari Paramahesvara, and an assistant namely Inasia Alia Albari. This research initiative, conducted in collaboration with Raja Iskandar Bin Raja Halid, a distinguished foreign researcher from University Malaysia Kelantan, aims to produce a documentary film that not only showcases the beauty and intricacy of the Wayang Potehi puppet show but also promotes the message of religious moderation.

The objectives of this research are clear and compelling, including to explore the historical and cultural significance of the Wayang Potehi puppet show; to understand its role in promoting religious moderation and harmony; to produce a documentary film that captures the essence of this art form, making it accessible to a wider audience; and to engage with local communities, artists, and stakeholders, ensuring that the project is inclusive and representative.

The expected results of this research go beyond the academic realm. The documentary film will serve as a testament to the rich cultural heritage of Indonesia, preserving it for future generations. It will also be a powerful tool in promoting religious moderation, fostering a sense of unity and understanding among diverse communities.
