Pagi hari pada selasa (03/10/2023), ketika tiap orang sedang sibuk dalam kubikelnya masing-masing, ruang sidang fakultas sastra Universitas Negeri Malang terbuka untuk menjamu dekan-dekan fakultas bahasa dan sastra dari beberapa universitas lain yang hendak melakukan kerjasama. Evynurul Laily Z., S.S., M., Ph.D (Wakil Dekan I), Dr. Edy H., S.Pd, M.Hum (Wakil Dekan II), Dr. Azizatuz Zahro’, S.Pd, M.P.d (Ketua departemen sastra Indonesia), Dr. Suryahadi, S.Pd, M.Pd (Ketua departemen Sastra Inggris), Dr. Moh. Ahsanuddin (Ketua departemen Sastra Arab), Dr. Dewi Kartika (Ketua departemen sastra Jerman), Andreas Syah P., S.Sn, MSn (Ketua program studi desain komunikasi visual), dan Dr. Ike Ratnawati (Ketua program studi pendidikan seni rupa) menyambut kedatangan Prof. Dr. Ermanto, S.Pd., M.Hum (Dekan Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni Universitas Negeri Padang), Drs. I Gede Nurjaya, M.Pd (Dekan Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha), I Putu Mas Dewantara (Wakil Dekan II Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha), Dr. Jamilah, M.Sn (Universitas Negeri Makassar), Dr. TangsiM.Sn (UNM) dan Dr. Sukarman B., M.Sn (UNM) di kota yang dingin ini dengan senyuman hangat.

Dilangsungkan selama satu jam mulai pukul 10.00 WIB, penyambutan tamu-tamu tersebut di ruang sidang yang seharusnya menegangkan berlangsung dengan baik dan penuh tawa, “Pertemuannya luar biasa, saya sangat senang atas sambutannya” ujar I Gede Nurjaya ketika menyampaikan sambutannya untuk seluruh hadirin. Sesi penyambutan diakhiri dengan foto bersama dan penyerahan beberapa buah tangan kemudian diskusi dan perbincangan kerja sama lebih lanjut dilakukan bersama agenda makan siang di luar Universitas Negeri Malang

Faculty of Letters UM Adds Foreign Cooperation This Time with Universiti Teknologi Mara Malaysia (UiTM) Malaysia

The Faculty of Letters, State University of Malang is expanding overseas cooperation. If all this time it has collaborated with various foreign universities, then now it is added with universities / universities in Malaysia, namely the Faculty of Education of UiTM Cawangan Selangor.

The tertiary institution directly collaborates in various fields with the Faculty of Letters, State University of Malang, including (1) education; (2) research and community service; and (3) student exchange internship program and credit transfer in a meeting between them and 8 delegates from the UM Faculty of Letters, including Prof. Hj. Utami Widiati, MA, Ph.D (Dean of FS UM), Dr. Primardiana Hermilia W, M.Pd (Deputy Dean I FS UM), Dr. Moch. Syahri, S.Sos, M.Si (Deputy Dean II FS UM), Prof. Dr. Yazid Basthomi, MA (Director of HI UM) along with several representatives from 5 departments in the Faculty of Letters UM at Studio FSK 1.5 Aras 7 Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Cawangan Selangor 18 April 2019.

In addition to discussing academic cooperation, on this occasion, Mrs. Utami Widiati, Mrs. Primardiana, and Mr. Andy Pramono also delivered material at the guest lecture held by UiTM. And the activity itself received a tremendous response from the UiTM Faculty of Education academic community. Ibu Primardiana explained that "Indonesia and Malaysia have a lot in common, especially in terms of culture, so it is very strategic to work together," he said, during the guest lecture.

A total of 15 students of the Faculty of Letters and 2 students of the State University of Malang Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences were given advice in the debriefing event and the release of PPL students to Thailand by the leadership of the UM Letters Faculty. By Mrs. Utami Widiati as Dean and Mrs. Primardiana as Deputy Dean I together with the heads of departments and students to coordinate before departure to Thailand. The lecturers of the Faculty of Letters advised the students to always be careful and always uphold nature while in Thailand. And it is also hoped that they will be able to explore knowledge and experience while implementing PPL in the land of the white elephant.

"PERMATA" FACULTY OF LITERATURE

The Faculty of Letters this year held a Credit Transfer program for 11 LPTKs throughout Indonesia or more commonly known as students "Gem". This program aims to increase cooperation between universities, which currently has 6 universities, namely Malang State University, Makassar State University, Semarang State University, Surabaya State University, Indonesia Education University, and Manado State University. Yesterday, on March 13 2018, the Faculty of Letters received 6 students from various universities to enter the Department in the Faculty of Letters. Nur Hikmah and Miftakhul Khairah from Makassar State University,  Nadia Azizah from Semarang State University, Yoga Rifqi Azizan from Surabaya State University, Nuriska Garnitasari from the Indonesian Education University, as well Fergie Mamangkey from Manado State University. Greeted by the Dean of the Faculty of Letters Prof. Utami Widiati, MA, Ph.D along with their staff, these students were very happy and excited for the future to gain knowledge and gain many new experiences at the Faculty of Letters, State University of Malang. It is hoped that in the future this kind of cooperation can be sustainable and further enhance cooperation in the academic field for the advancement of the world of education in Indonesia.

Mahakarya Seniman 2 Negara dalam ARTEASTISM #2

Artists' Masterpieces of 2 Countries in ARTEASTISM #2

On October 10 to 14, 2016 the Department of Art and Design, Faculty of Letters held Arteastism#2 activities. Not only inviting domestic artists, Arteastism also invited several artists from abroad including from Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia. Arteastism carries a spirit of togetherness in art. Art becomes a universal language that unites people from different cultural backgrounds.

This grand event was officially opened by Malang State University officials. The opening was enlivened by a spectacular performance of colossal contemporary dance and music collaboration from the Dance and Music Education Study Program (PSTM). The show involved about 60 students from the PSTM study program. The choreographer of this colossal dance is Robby Hidajat M.Sn, a dance lecturer at PSTM who is currently completing his doctoral study. The show's presentation was enough to grab the attention of the attendees who enthusiastically watched the show from beginning to end.
