Two UM FS Study Programs in AUN-QA Assessor Citation

Malang May 22 2019, For the first time, State University of Malang received eight AUN-QA (ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance) assessors who will assess two study programs at the Faculty of Letters and two study programs at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences for three days from 21 to with 23 May 2019. The two study programs are (1) Indonesian and Regional Literature Language Education Study Program and (2) English Language Education Study Program, Faculty of Letters.

This AUN-QA assessor visitation activity is an important stage in the series of certification process because the study program applying for certification will be checked directly. Previously, the study program and faculty / university teams had worked hard to prepare all the elements assessed by the assessors such as making a SAR (Self Assessment Report) and adding / updating teaching support facilities, security and evaluation, as well as facilities for people with special needs. There are 11 important points of assessment carried out on study programs and study programs will be certified if they get a minimum score of four from a scale of seven, these important points are: (1) expected learning outcomes; (2) program specification; (3) program structure and content; (4) teaching and learning approach; (5) student assessment; (6) academic staff quality; (7) supporting staff quality; (8) student quality and support; (9) facility and infrastructure; (10) quality enhancement; and (11) output.

The first day of the visitation activity took place at the Graha Rectorate UM, beginning with a meeting with university leaders, faculty and department leaders, and the SAR compilation team. Furthermore, the assessors conducted interview sessions with Academic Personnel (Lecturers) and Education Personnel (Tendik / Support Staff) both at university and faculty levels. The second day held a meeting with students, alumni, and alumni users (stakeholders) and confirmed with the SAR Team. The last day of the visitation visit was the assessor's exposure to what he had obtained from the previous day and then waited for the results of the assessment.
