Kota Malang – Program studi Ilmu Perpustakaan Fakultas Sastra Universitas Negeri Malang terus melakukan gebrakan. Terbaru, beberapa dosen dari prodi tersebut berkesempatan untuk menjadi pembicara dalam kuliah tamu yang bertajuk “Collaborative Teaching” bersama dengan puluhan mahasiswa dariUniversiti Teknologi MARA, Kedah, Malaysia. Kegiatan ini sendiri dilangsungkan pada Senin pagi, 22 Mei 2023 secara daring melalui Webex.
Usai dibuka oleh MC, kegiatan ini dilanjutkan dengan perkenalan dan paparan narasumber, sesi diskusi dan tanya jawab, dan diakhiri dengan penutup dan sesi dokumentasi. Kegiatan yang berlangsung selama kurang lebih satu setengah jam ini berfokus pada topik aplikasi manajemen referensi dengan tajuk “Why Use Reference Management Software?” yang merupakan lanjutan dari materi sebelumnya, yakni “Basic Concepts of Tools in Computer Programming Skills for Libraries”.
Dalam paparannya, Bapak Moh. Safii, S.Kom, M.Hum, selaku pemateri memaparkan pentingnya menggunakan aplikasi manajemen referensi, seperti meningkatkan kredibilitas dan tranparansi, mendukung argumen, mendeteksi plagiasi, menambahkan informasi, dan sebagai salah satu cara untuk mengembangkan pengetahuan. Selain itu, penggunaan aplikasi manajemen referensi juga menjadi ciri sebuah tulisan merupakan sebuah karya ilmiah yang akan diperlakukan “istimewa” melalui Google Scholar. Tak sampai disana, profil aplikasi, teknis penginstalan, dan tutorial penggunaan aplikasi manajemen referensi seperti Mendeley dan Zotero juga banyak dibahas pada sesi diskusi dan tanya jawab yang sangat interaktif.
Kegiatan ini sendiri merupakan bagian dari rangkaian kerja sama antara Fakultas Sastra UM dengan Faculty of Information Management UiTM. Tak hanya sekali, “Collaborative Teaching”ini nyatanya dilakukan sebanyak lima pertemuan yang diselenggarakan antara 8 Mei s/d 20 Juni 2023 dengan pembicara dan topik pembahasan yang berbeda pada setiap pertemuannya. Adapun topik pembahasan dan pembicara yang dimaksud antara lain Preservation and Conservation of Digital Media oleh Lidya Amalia Rahmania, S.Kom, M.Kom.; Number Building and Classification in Organization of Information oleh Setiawan S.Sos, M.IP.; dan Reference Service & Search Technology oleh Amalia Nurma Dewi, M.Hum.
Memasuki era perpustakaan digital, Prodi Ilmu Perpustakaan Fakultas Sastra Universitas Negeri Malang lakukan workshop bertema Senayan Open Library Management System atau SLiMS dengan Universiti Teknologi MARA Malaysia. Kegiatan ini diselenggarakan pada Jumat, 2 Juni 2023 secara daring melalui Zoom Meeting dan diikuti oleh puluhan pelajar dari Faculty of Information Management UiTM. Berlangsung selama kurang lebih dua jam, pertemuan yang bukan kali pertama antara UM dan UiTM ini dimulai dengan pembukaan oleh Cik Latif dan langsung dilanjutkan dengan paparan oleh dosen Bapak Moh. Safii, S.Kom., M.Hum.
Workshop ini berfokus pada tutorial penginstalan dan penggunaan SliMS. Pemateri memberikan materi dasar, mulai dari proses mengekstrak, mengatur, dan menghidupkan XAMPP, serta menggunakan SLiMS dengan mode demo mulai dari login, OPAC, dan pengenalan berbagai fitur yang ada dalam SLiMS, seperti salin katalog berbasis MARC, cetak kode batang dan nomor panggil, menu keanggotaan dan sirkulasi, serta entri data bibliografi. Nampak para peserta cukup antusias dengan turut serta mencoba pada perangkat masing-masing disertai dengan beberapa pertanyaan yang dilontarkan.
Loka karya ini juga berasa spesial karena pesertanya adalah mahasiswa semester akhir yang akan segera lulus sehingga mereka dapat mendapatkan informasi terkait aplikasi perpustakaan berbasis open source yang kelak dapat diadaptasi di tempat kerja masing-masing. Adapun selain SLiMS yang dibina oleh Kemendikbud RI, pertemuan ini juga menyinggung aplikasi otomasi perpustakaan lain, seperti INLISLite, KOHA, dan Greenstone. Loka karya ini juga menyajikan sesi sharing mengenai perbedaan pembelajaran Library and Information Science serta penggunaan aplikasi otomasi perpustakaan antar kedua negara.

Study tour merupakan kegiatan belajar siswa dengan langsung turun ke lapangan. Kegiatan seperti study tour ini menjadi salah satu program pembelajaran yang dilakukan SMAN 1 Puncu. Keluarga besar SMA 1 Puncu Kabupaten Kediri yang terdiri dari 206 siswa kelas XI beserta para guru dan kepala sekolah adakan kunjungan ke Fakultas Sastra Universitas Negeri Malang (UM).
Kunjungan SMAN 1 Puncu diadakan hari Kamis (05/16) bertempat di AVA. Acara dimulai pada jam 11.00 WIB. Dr. Tri Wahyuningtyas, S.Pd., M.Si. yang kerap dipanggil Bu Tri pada kesempatan kali ini menjadi narasumber sekaligus perwakilan Humas Sastra untuk mengenalkan Universitas Negeri Malang. Bu Tri menjelaskan dalam materinya terkait sejarah UM, jumlah fakultas yang ada di dalamnya, fasilitas apa saja, hingga keunggulan pada akreditasi. Beliau juga menjabarkan tentang Fakultas Sastra UM. Jalur penerimaan mahasiswa pun tidak luput dalam materi yang disampaikan oleh Bu Tri.
“Seni itu di sekolah kami merupakan suatu ikon yang cukup dikenal di Kediri. Karena kami juga merasa lebih unggul di bidang seni itu sendiri.” tutur Bapak Sukamto, S.Pd. sebagai Kepala Sekolah SMAN 1 Puncu dalam sambutannya. Hal inilah menjadi salah satu alasan terpilihnya Fakultas Sastra UM sebagai rujukan perguruan tinggi yang ingin dituju SMAN 1 Puncu.
“Melihat banyaknya guru SMAN 1 Puncu yang menjadi alumni UM, semua juga harus mengikuti jejak bapak ibu guru. Sekaligus berharap UM menerima dari adik-adik semuanya,” harap Ibu Dr. Tri Wahyuningtyas, S.Pd., M.Si.

Setelah pemberian materi oleh Ibu Dr. Tri Wahyuningtyas, S.Pd., M.Si. acara dilanjut dengan pemberian cinderamata dan foto bersama. Keluarga besar SMAN 1 Puncu diarahkan menuju pameran yang berada di Selasar Gedung D18. Pameran ini digelar oleh Program Studi Desain Komunikasi Visual UM. Bersama dengan para pengunjung lain, keluarga besar SMAN 1 Puncu menikmati dan mengapresiasi karya mahasiswa DKV UM.
“Menurut saya sangat berkesan karena pengenalan-pengenalan yang langsung kepada kampus itu sendiri. Mungkin ini juga yang dirasakan oleh anak-anak, ternyata dari jurusan-jurusan di sini akreditasinya sudah sangat bagus, dalam hal ini unggul bahkan internasional. Hal semacam ini menimbulkan daya tarik tersendiri bagi guru khususnya memberi memotivasi kepada anak,” kesan dari Kepala Sekolah SMAN 1 Puncu.
“Anak-anak diharapkan dengan berbagai kesulitan yang dihadapinya, optimis untuk melanjutkan kuliah. Ternyata beasiswanya juga banyak. Silahkan memilih jurusan yang terbaik sesuai dengan cita-cita.karena di UM ini di Sastra ini dengan keunggulan akreditasinya yang sangat baik terutama di kependidikannya. Buktinya di lapangan, lulusan dari UM benar-benar mewarnai negeri ini,” lanjutan pesan dari Bapak Sukamto.
