Faculty of Letters UM Adds Foreign Cooperation This Time with Universiti Teknologi Mara Malaysia (UiTM) Malaysia
The Faculty of Letters, State University of Malang is expanding overseas cooperation. If all this time it has collaborated with various foreign universities, then now it is added with universities / universities in Malaysia, namely the Faculty of Education of UiTM Cawangan Selangor.
The tertiary institution directly collaborates in various fields with the Faculty of Letters, State University of Malang, including (1) education; (2) research and community service; and (3) student exchange internship program and credit transfer in a meeting between them and 8 delegates from the UM Faculty of Letters, including Prof. Hj. Utami Widiati, MA, Ph.D (Dean of FS UM), Dr. Primardiana Hermilia W, M.Pd (Deputy Dean I FS UM), Dr. Moch. Syahri, S.Sos, M.Si (Deputy Dean II FS UM), Prof. Dr. Yazid Basthomi, MA (Director of HI UM) along with several representatives from 5 departments in the Faculty of Letters UM at Studio FSK 1.5 Aras 7 Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Cawangan Selangor 18 April 2019.
In addition to discussing academic cooperation, on this occasion, Mrs. Utami Widiati, Mrs. Primardiana, and Mr. Andy Pramono also delivered material at the guest lecture held by UiTM. And the activity itself received a tremendous response from the UiTM Faculty of Education academic community. Ibu Primardiana explained that "Indonesia and Malaysia have a lot in common, especially in terms of culture, so it is very strategic to work together," he said, during the guest lecture.
Collaboration between the Faculty of Letters of UM and the Faculty of Education of UiTM
Thursday, April 18 2019, the Head of Faculties and Departments paid a visit to the Faculty of Education, Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) in Shah Alam City which is the capital city of Selangor Malaysia State. This visit was aimed at fulfilling the invitation as guest lecture speaker and exploring the cooperation between FS UM and FP UiTM. Some of the important points of the collaborative effort between the two faculties are (1) the field of education; (2) research and community service; and (3) student exchange for internships and credit transfers.

[fusion_text] Malang, March 28, 2019, Department of Arabic Literature, Faculty of Letters, State University of Malang held an annual event, namely Mahrajan Araby XIII, with the theme "Grounding Arabic with the values of the archipelago". This event is a prestigious event that is attended by all undergraduate students majoring in Arabic literature UM, this event will be held starting on March 20, 2019 with an opening event filled with seminars from Prof. Dr. Abdul Aziz Ibrahim Al Ushaili where he is a lecturer at the Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University - Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. After that, proceed with a technical meeting after the event is over.
This was followed by a competition that started on March 22-24 2019, in which there were many competitions that could be followed by the UM Arabic literature student friends, and among the competitions were speech, debate, news reading competitions etc., all of which used Arabic as an introduction. .
The purpose of this event was none other than to improve the quality of UM's Arabic friends in the field of language so that the UM Arabic literature department could participate in participating in competitions outside the campus so that it could raise the name of the campus.
This event was closed on Friday night, March 28, 2019 which was placed in the drama lab of the second floor of the E6 building, this event was very lively because this event was different from previous years which this time was enlivened directly by UM's Arabic literary lute recently This is starting to get busy in university circles. Following the Annual SAEED National Competition News Casting Competition
Contest news casting The Annual SAEED National Competition that I participated in was held on Saturday, March 30 2019 at Campus 2 of the Gunung Djati State Islamic University, Bandung. This national competition is held for high school students and students from all over Indonesia by the English Department Student Association (SAEED) Tarbiyah Faculty, UIN Gunung Djati Bandung. This competition consists of competitions speech, news casting, story telling, debate, spelling bee, scrabble and paper presentation.
Contest news casting itself consists of 15 student participants and 8 participants from high school students and there are two rounds that are contested in the competition news casting this, namely the preliminary and final round. For students, the preliminary round is to deliver news in English and live broadcast, while the final round, five participants present one talk show which is packaged as well as possible by each participant.
Meanwhile, the winner of the news casting competition was taken by two winners with the first winner being Fadiatus Salamah from the University of Education of Indonesia and the second winner was Roaini Shauna from Universitas Brawijaya. Winners get a trophy and cash that has been provided by the committee.

Market 2019 HMJ Art and Design
Arts and Tuesday March 25-26 2019 at the Local Building E Faculty of Letters UM which was carried out by the Art and Design Department Student Association held a work program called "Pasaran". Pasaran is the first work program held by the 2019 Art and Design Department Student Association. This Work Program is carried out at E8 Locale which is generally a lecture building for Art and Design Students. This work program is implemented for 2 days with the aim of optimizing the students of the Art and Design Department for entrepreneurship.
On the first day the event went well. On the first day, they presented the Worksop "Painting Jackets" and "Tie Dye", whose speakers were Art and Design Department Students themselves. On the first day of this event, Art and Design Department students gain new knowledge about the right composition for painting on jackets. Not only that, Art and Design Department students also got new knowledge about how to get the right pattern composition to make a "Tie Dye". The bazaar itself experienced a bit of chaos due to the unfavorable weather. As a result, the place of the bazaar which was originally located in E8 Local Park moved to the Lower Hall of E8 Building.
On the second day the event went well. However, on the second day when "Live Screen Printing" did not run due to lack of preparation for the Live Screen Printing, Akustikan continued smoothly where the participants were Art and Design Department students themselves. On the second day the bazaar was opened in the lower hall of E8 Building due to the less favorable weather for the bazaar to be opened in E8 Local Park.
Overall, the Pasaran event on the first and second day went well and was successful. There were no significant obstacles during the event. The enthusiasm of students of the Art and Design Department is very good. This is proven by the smooth running of the event and the relationship between students of the Art and Design Department.
Comparative Study Visit of the Indonesian Literature Student Association (HIMASINDO) and Lecturers of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Udayana University
Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at the Hall of the UM Central Library, the Indonesian Literature Department, Faculty of Letters received a visit from 35 students of the Indonesian Literature Student Association (HIMASINDO) and four Lecturers of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Udayana University. A visit from UNUD scheduled, among others, a scientific discussion about the curriculum of the Language Education Study Program, Indonesian Literature and Regional Studies. The explanation of the Education Study Program curriculum was explained by Dr. Martutik as Secretary of the Indonesian Literature Department while the Indonesian Language and Literature Study Program was explained by Dr. Taufik Dermawan.
