Strengthening Cultural Heritage: A Collaborative Research Initiative Between the University of Malang and the National University of Malaysia

In an era where globalization is rapidly changing the face of our world, preserving cultural heritage becomes a vital mission. The University of Malang, in collaboration with University Kebangsaan Malaysia, has embarked on a research project aimed at strengthening a cultural-based village model in the Senden Village area of Kediri Regency.

This research team is led by Dr. Rudi Irawanto, S.Pd, M.Sn, with three researchers namely Dr. Hary Suswanto, ST, MT, Ni'matul Istiqomah, S, Pd, M. Pd, Dr. Tri Wahyuningyas, S.Pd, M.Si, a student from our university namely I Made Ari Paramahesvara. The research is also collaborated with Junaini Kasdan, a foreign researcher from University Kebangsaan Malaysia. The project is affiliated with Padepokan CiptoMudho Laras in Kediri and is funded by the internal funds of the University of Malang.

The initiative falls under the categories of Economic, Humanities, and Tourism, reflecting a multidisciplinary approach that combines traditional wisdom with modern research methodologies. The collaboration with foreign researchers adds an international dimension to the project, fostering cross-cultural understanding and shared knowledge.

The University of Malang has embarked on a groundbreaking research project to develop a gender-conscious Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) application for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This innovative project, set to commence in February 2023, is a beacon of hope for families and educators striving to enhance the communication skills of children with ASD. This research team is led by Dr. Rudi Irawanto, S.Pd, M.Sn, with three researchers namely Dr. Hary Suswanto, ST, MT, Laras Putri Gamagitta, S.Keb, Bd., M.Keb, and Dr. Pranti Sayekti, S.Sn, M.Si, and a student from our university namely I Made Ari Paramahesvara.

We are honored to announce the collaboration with Junaini Kasdan, a distinguished foreign researcher from University Kebangsaan Malaysia. His expertise and insights will undoubtedly enrich the research process and contribute to the success of this initiative.

The research team, consisting of four researchers and one student, will work under the Gender and Population Center, with funding provided by the internal funds of the University of Malang. The project's focus on gender consciousness within the PECS application is a pioneering approach that recognizes the unique communication needs of boys and girls with ASD.
