Understanding Maker Volunteering Expedition Nepal is a volunteerism and understanding adventure program that will be held in Kathmandu City, Nepal. This program aims to increase the spirit of volunteerism of Indonesian youth and increase understanding of cultural differences. So, it is hoped that Indonesian youth can become wiser youths and have a high sense of tolerance. This program collaborates with the For Children Foundation, a non-governmental organization that focuses on bullying issues in Indonesia.

IMPORTANT DATE
Registration: 1-20 May 2018
Program Implementation: 9-14 February 2019 (Independent fee participants) and 16-21 February 2019 (Scholarship recipients)

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Participants are Indonesian youths aged 18-27 years
  • Participants must follow the Instagram account @understandingmaker
  • Participants have basic English
  • Having skills in one or more Indonesian cultures (for example, being able to play traditional Indonesian musical instruments, dance Indonesian dances, or other skills such as storytelling while still bringing out Indonesian characteristics).
  • Able and willing to socialize with a new environment and not to DISCRIMINATE the differences between participants and other people during the program.
  • Being able to work in groups, this will be very important because participants will live in one house and make several Pay a selection fee of Rp. 100,000 (for participants who want to take part in the selection to get fully funded and partial funded scholarships)
  • Pay a fee of IDR 3,000,000 for independent participants.

FULLY FUNDED SCHOLARSHIP PARTICIPANTS
Friends who want to join this program with FREE PROGRAM FEE and AIRCRAFT TICKETS can take part in the selection with the following conditions:

  • Every participant who wants to get a partial funded scholarship MUST pay a selection fee of Rp. 100,000, the fee is sent via an account BRI bank 4074-01-023744-537 AN SITI AISAH
  • Participants send the latest CV
  • Participants make an essay with the theme "VOLUNTEERS AND GLOBAL ISSUES" there are no specific sub-themes in this essay. However, participants can use an economic, political, cultural, social point of view and use examples from other countries (not necessarily Indonesia)
  • The essay is written in Indonesian or English (same assessment)
  • Essays are written in 800-1000 words (not including bibliography)
  • Margin 3,3,3,3 space 1,5
  • Essay assessment is seen from the grammar (20%) of original ideas or ideas and issue analysis (80%)
  • Each participant who gets this scholarship must confirm no later than 3 days after the confirmation email is sent by the committee to the scholarship recipient.
  •  There will be 5 people who get this scholarship
  • Participants who get this scholarship will cover all costs including airfare from Jakarta-Kathmandu-Jakarta, visas, accommodation costs, meals, donations, local transportation, t-shirts, and other equipment during the program.
  •  Participants will NOT receive pocket money
  • File (CV + Proof of Transfer + Essay) with email subject: NAME-FULLYFUNDED sent to understandingmaker.nepal2019@gmail.com

PARTIAL FUNDED SCHOLARSHIP PARTICIPANTS
Friends who want to join this program with FREE PROGRAM FEE can take part in the selection with the following conditions:

  • Every participant who wants to get a partial funded scholarship MUST pay a selection fee of Rp. 100,000, the fee is sent via an account BRI bank 4074-01-023744-537 AN SITI AISAH
  •  Participants send the latest CV
  • Participants make an essay with the theme "Volunteerism and the Advancement of the Nation" there are no specific sub-themes in this essay. However, participants can use economic, political, cultural, social perspectives and use examples from other countries (not necessarily Indonesia)
  • The essay is written in Indonesian or English (same assessment)
  • Essays written in 1000-1500 words (not including bibliography)
  • Margin 3,3,3,3 space 1,5
  • Essay assessment is seen from the grammar (20%) of original ideas or ideas and issue analysis (80%)
  • Each participant who gets this scholarship must confirm no later than 3 days after the confirmation email is sent by the committee to the scholarship recipient.
  • There will be 5 people who get this scholarship
  • Participants who get this scholarship will ONLY be subject to accommodation, meals, donations, local transportation, t-shirts, and other equipment during the program.
  • Participants MUST Bear the cost of air tickets and visas
  • Participants will NOT receive pocket money

SELF FUNDED (OWN COST)
For participants who want to take part in this program at their own expense, participants can choose this program. Due to the fact that the quota for this program is very limited, therefore all participants are required to take part in the selection by filling in the form below. For participants who want to join this program with a self-funded system DO NOT HAVE TO PAY REGISTRATION FEE.

  • The quota for the self-funded program is 20 people
  • Participants send CV to understandingmaker.member@gmail.com
  • There is no selection in this route, participants who register early will get priority seats
  • The program fee is IDR 3,000,000
  • These costs include accommodation, meals, local transportation, certificates, t-shirts, and the cost of a visit for 6 days
  • This fee DOES NOT INCLUDE airfare and visa fees
  • Participants are required to pay a commitment fee of Rp. 500,000 (maximum 2 weeks after the registration deadline). This fee is non-refundable or non-refundable if the participant finally decides to resign.
  • Participants can pay all costs directly or in installments
